Thrashing by Petra Kvitova thats what this match was lol there was nothing Wickmayer could of done!

  • By kennethfraipont, February 29, 2012 @ 11:51 pm

Kvitova was too good here, this made Wickmayer look like a total zero here, which she isn’t.

    Go Petra !:)

  • By JordanjamesX, March 1, 2012 @ 12:52 am

Kvitova shows what it takes to become a champion you need the weapons which she has the speed, huge serve, lethal grounstrokes. Petra has the whole package. Well done winning Wimbledon! I knew Petra had a chance against Maria because Maria was so inconsistent despite winning her matches in straight sets. Petra really just overpowered Maria in the final.

This was Petra’s batting practice. Too good!

  • By zhaclub, March 1, 2012 @ 2:30 am

That is how grass court tennis should be played.

  • By anaihilator, March 1, 2012 @ 3:00 am

Her easy power just mesmerizes me and her ability to pick her spots on the court….its like 2004 all over again with Federer.

Im NOT saying she is as talented or versatile as Roger, but playing like this, she could take over the game the way he did in 2004.

  • By FallOutEagle, March 1, 2012 @ 3:08 am

wow! thats the petra i love. when she relaxed she can do anything this is unbelieveable!

  • By wilber11123, March 1, 2012 @ 3:09 am

Kvitova was just too good here, such clean, ruthless ball-striking, Wickmayer couldn’t do anything.

  • By kelvinpyaeko, March 1, 2012 @ 3:30 am

@hajime2k haha i know..i was watching it live..frankly, rooting for maria, but well, a better player won of course. the only thing i feel bad about it is for wozniacki LOL she would be questioned over and over again till she get a slam to show how she deserve the number 1 spot

  • By hajime2k, March 1, 2012 @ 4:27 am

@kelvinpyaeko Congrats to Petra! 🙂 2011 Wimbledon champion!!!

  • By djollyboy, March 1, 2012 @ 4:41 am

@TopTenTennisNetwork cibulkova and peng are not really contendors sorry, i feel pet had to work harder and i feel she deserves to win the whole thing!

  • By hugobosstachini, March 1, 2012 @ 5:12 am

Petra is the real deal and hopefully she keeps up this level for all the rest of the year.

  • By TopTenTennisNetwork, March 1, 2012 @ 6:07 am

@djollyboy No! She’s played Peng(20) and Cibulkova(24). Kvitova has beaten Pironkova(32), Vinci(29), Wickmayer(19), and Azarenka(4). Maria’s definitely had the easier route to the final.

  • By djollyboy, March 1, 2012 @ 6:49 am

@TopTenTennisNetwork I’m glad to hear that! I’m really rooting for her to win her first final! and i dnt want shara to win sorry, she played well but not as somone who deserves the title…did she even play anyone in the top 15 the entire tournament yet?

  • By TopTenTennisNetwork, March 1, 2012 @ 7:46 am

@kelvinpyaeko I agree. Kvitova has been streaky at times, but when she pulls it all together, she has looked more impressive than Sharapova in this tournament.

  • By kelvinpyaeko, March 1, 2012 @ 7:54 am

i won’t be surprised even if kvitova beats maria in the final. she has been playing really well throughout the whole tournament, unlike sharapova, who still shows some display of inconsistency

  • By GOATrena, March 1, 2012 @ 8:19 am

The commentator is so observant. “Wow that is superb” after every shot. How interesting.

  • By 2consul, March 1, 2012 @ 8:28 am

Kvitova is the next big thing. In her, you can see the most complete game ever seen, male or female. She excels at every shot in the book. A telling statistic, she spends 49% of the time INSIDE the baseline. She hits winners from anywhere, including no-man’s land. Navratilova and Sampras had sketchy forehand volleys; not so with Kvitova. Prediction: many of the other women’s coaches are going to try to get their charges to adopt the first-strike Kvitova style.

    @TopTenTennisNetwork
yes, especially if we consider the quality of the two opponents crashed!
